Cushions of cartilage lie between our bones. When these layers wear out the bones begin to grind against each other, causing extreme pain. Under normal circumstances, tiny electrical signals are created inside our body to replace cartilage. Due to diseases, e.g. osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, aging or injury, the normal replacement of cartilage is disturbed, causing pain and inflammation.

A study at the Pacific Health Research Institute in Honolulu was designed to provide concrete data on the restoration of bone mass in post-menopausal females. Bone density increased an average of 5.6%. At the University of Graz in Austria a similar study also showed an increase in bone density after one year of around 6%. These results make all the difference between functioning in good health or having an increasing risk for spontaneous fractures. A proportionate increase in fracture risk is directly related to decreased bone density. 

One disadvantage of large coil systems is that the magnetic field is very localized and mainly within the coil area only. It is not suitable for full body energizing. Many manufacturers use the latter method because of technological difficulties in manufacturing and controlling high-density electrical currents within flat surface coils. Also, creating stable and effective electromagnetic fields exceeding the 10 milli Tesla (100 gauss) level seems to be problematic for other manufacturers.

Yes, if you hold the supplied test magnet you can feel the pulses. The maximum energy setting with the coil electrode even enables you to feel the pulses at a distance of over 40″ (1 meter) or at the other side of your body! 

Very many combinations of pulse forms have been clinically studied determining that sinusoidal waveforms modulated with varying pulse frequencies are the most effective. This assures the necessary energy is transferred into the body when combined with sufficient magnetic field strength.

The pulse frequency range of our equipment varies from 1 to 50 Hz. This ensures the best therapeutic benefits are available for all medical applications to be treated. For health and fitness the range should be 1 to 22 Hz, and for diseases the range should be 1 to 50 Hz (above 50 Hz there is no more relevant therapeutic effect). 

When sitting in a plane we experience noise made by the engines. After a short while we hardly notice this noise. This is because we adapt to surrounding disturbances. The same holds true for magnetic fields which pulse continuously in a constant pattern. These pulses are a disturbance for the body and will cease to be effective after a few minutes (this is why some manufacturers call for the use of just 8 minutes of PEMF therapy). By automatically changing the pulsing frequencies used every few minutes, Curatron avoids this adaptation. The effectiveness of the therapy can therefore be extended over longer periods.

NO! The speed of change of the electromagnetic field is the key factor in establishing the conditions for maximum effectiveness within the cells of body tissues. This speed of magnetic pulsation is one of the most important parameters for obtaining clear pictures in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) machines. By generating high speed tilting of hydrogen atoms in the body, these atoms emit the radio frequency signals measured by the MRI coils used to create the diagnostic picture. A static magnetic field cannot generate any effect inside the cells of the body as there is no speed of change component when applying a permanent magnetic field.

There are systems which generate less than 0.1 milli Tesla (1 Gauss), which is much less than the normal background magnetic field in any household appliance (fridge, TV etc.). Such devices can only produce a placebo effect.

Yes, when the pulsing electromagnetic fields penetrate sufficiently deep within the human body. The electrical influence and increase of the membrane cell potential causes an increase in oxygenation, which in turn increases the supply of nutrients. This results in disposal of waste products from the cells and cell detoxification.

Evaluation has been done by means of thermography (measuring the heat coming from a body by means of infrared technology). There are striking differences between a temperature scan before and after PEMF treatment, clearly showing an increased perfusion and thus an increase of oxygen supply.

To obtain clinically relevant results, the minimum pulsing field strength must be at least 3-5 milli Tesla (30 to 50 Gauss). In order to generate piezoelectricity inside bones and cells the field strength must exceed 10 milli Tesla (100 gauss). There are various large and expensive coil systems mounted on arms or beds, but none of these systems can generate energy higher than 100 gauss.

Electric current in a coil causes a magnetic field. The combined effect of electric and magnetic fields is called Lorenz force. Induced Lorenz force will produce electricity in cells which is the basis for Pulsing Electromagnetic Field Therapy.

The physics of electricity and magnetism is called electromagnetism. An electromagnet is a piece of soft iron with electrical wire wrapped around it. When an electric current flows through the wire, it produces a magnetic field and the iron is magnetized – the greater the current, the stronger the magnetic field. By coiling up the wire many times, the magnetic field will be made stronger.

The Curatron system can run without laptop, PC or MAC. The system contains 10 Master programs (each divided into sub-programs) which run automatically without a computer. If you would like to compile your own programs you will need a PC or Laptop, which would be connected to the unit. 

Our body’s natural magnetic field is created by the flow of electrically charged ions through cells. Only Pulsing Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) force can impact at the cellular level, not static magnets. The magnetic strength value of static magnets (expressed in Gauss value) is not relevant as since their measured field strengths range from 300 gauss to 16000 gauss at the surface; at 2 cm distance around 10 gauss, and at 10 cm distance, nothing. Static magnets cannot create any electrical induction without being moved continually!

Programs last between 20 and 30 minutes. After the session is finished the unit automatically switches off and goes into “stand-by” mode (like on your TV set).  Several different settings can be combined during a session, so the entire session could last 90 minutes if desired.
